lug thread size

i bought a set of gorilla locking lug nuts. i go to thread on one locking nut and i couldnt turn it easily by hand. i figure there is buildup of grease/grime so thats why its harder to turn. i get the breaker bar and socket out and gingerly thread it on. i could not get it to tighten. when it got close, it jumped on me, as if i stripped something. i threaded the lock back off, and inspected both threads. i threaded on a regular open-style nut, and it threaded on easily by hand. whew, didnt strip the lug. i tried the same thing on the other side, and got the same results, just to see if it was just that one side that was giving me hell. neither lug seemed to be stripped, but i think my locks are trash now.

my question is, do mn12s have the same thread size as the mustang? i bought 1/2" locking nuts, and i think the employee sold me a set of locks for a mustang, cuz he saw mustang wheels on my bird.

No

Hello Big Mike

No the Thunderbird has metric lug studs.

I replaced mine with aftermarket studs & 1in. Lug Nuts.
The Mustang Hubs are 1/2 - 20 already

The MN-12 has M12x1.5 threads.

That's Metric 12mm by 1.5mm pitch.

I know that's also the same as the Lincoln LS, as I just put LS rims on my car and I needed the matching lugs.

Yeah, they look near about the same diameter, but with a courser thread.

No mix.
