Big Weight Difference

I just had M&H ribbed skinnies (185/80-16) mounted on the Mark VIII aluminum spares I bought from Thomas A. The wheels only weighed 9 lbs each, and the wheel/tire assemblies weigh 27 lbs. That is a whopping 26 lbs per side less than my front street setup of 255/45-17 Nitto 555s on 17"x9" Cobra R wheels! Of course, I'll only be using the skinnies at the drag strip.

Combined with the recent removal of all the stereo equipment other than the head unit and four passenger compartment speakers, this gets the car's "street" weight down to 3720 lbs and the "track" weight down to about 3640 lbs. I'm in the process of installing a battery relocation kit which will move 40 of those lbs to the right rear corner of the car.
