I don't know how hard it would be to do that if you really wanted to, but I'll chime in and say that doing that is probably a very, very bad idea. I'd advise against trying it.

Probably never, ever get em centered enough to ever balance those wheels again. That's best left for a machine shop with proper equipment. Not to mention that the structural integrity of the wheels would probably be screwed. To do it correctly, all existing holes are closed and then the new pattern machined in.

X2. To add to that, use some nylon dowels to plug the holes before redrilling

I was in no way implying that you were going to use a hand drill, I would never take anybody to be that dumb.

I just figured that it was already determined that this would be a bad idea (even on a drill press). So I was just trying to throw a little redneck humor at the whole deal. And I wouldn't have made my comments either if I was one of the first few to reply to your question when you were trying to get a serious answer.

What I think may be missing is drilling a 5 hole pattern with a 4 hole pattern is going to be impossible without welding up the oem holes.

But a good machine shop can easily use a CNC/CAM drill press and drill the bolt pattern as good as any manufacturer.
