what do you think of these rims?

found these American racing rims for 150. there 205/15 and there off a ford taurus so that means they will fit right?

i figure it is a great deal, because the tires are good so i can sell the stockers and get at least half my money back. here's what they look like photoshoped onto my car

if i bought them i think i would lower my car and then leave it alone for a while, scene i already got good paint and tint. what do you guys think?

205/??/15 ...What size are the tires, they look short to me. Your car will look like a rollerskate if those are 60s.

lowered, koni sport adjustables, 4.30 tl in aluminum housing, mark 8 trans, j-mod, 93 mark viii ds, antenna hole=gone, kooks headers 1.75" primaries, 2.5" catless duals, midmount magnaflow, 96-97 sport wheels with 255/50/16 sumitomo HTR Zs, optima in the trunk, new motor...94 mark 6/6/08

Doesnt your bird have 16" sport wheels now? why downgrade in size and looks with those old dated wheels?

They wont clear your front brakes if yours is a sport.

IMO the rims look pretty early 90's. and with them being smaller, I wouldn't get them. They aren't awful looking, and for the price they aren't bad, but I wouldn't spend the time and money myself.

You are not a police interceptor. Do not paint your rims black with silver centercaps.

The solid color would look a lot cleaner. What rims did you car have originally?

the 16" sport rims. (i think thats what there called) They are pretty nice as it is. But they could use paint, there a little chipped up. they would look nice polished but that's to much work, dont think it would be worth it.

all dark would look funny with the light silver stripe. And i think there already a light silver. if i'm keeping these, maybe i should just sand down all the chips and re-paint them silver?

edit: i mistook the brake dust for curb rash. The only scratched up part is around the lugs from torch guns. They just need to be cleaned up.

I had a set of 16 inch SHO Chromies on my Taurus:

but when my Taurus died I traded those rims and tires(which I paid 140 for) for the basketweaves and 150 dollars. The tires on the basketweaves are good, but the previous owner was the one who painted them. The tires that came on the tbird rims were mismatched(brand, type AND size) so I threw the basketweaves on.

frankly i think you should look into what the custom wheel shop has to offer..you know the guys on the main forum index in the upper right corner. they have some really great looking rims for a realistic price.

well a few weeks ago i found some 17 cobra r's for 350 with tires on a tbird. I was just looking at cheeper options so i can use the extra money to lower the car. Now i decided that if i lowered it a little and put some cheep rims or painted the stockers, people proably wouldnt even tell the difference and i would spend way more than i would on some nice, clean classy wheels that look like there supposed to be stock.
