Taurus SHO Wheels

Anyone ever seen these wheels on an MN12 Thunderbird/Cougar?

They are from a 1999 Ford Taurus SHO (they are on my previous car in the photo, a 2004 Mercury Sable). I just got my brand-new Continental tires tonight and I'll probably have them mounted and balanced onto these wheels tomorrow, then I'm going to put them on my '97 Thunderbird. I currently have the OE 16" sport wheels on the car, but they're not in the greatest shape! I can't wait to get the new tires and wheels on the car!

By the way, if anyone's looking for a good deal on 16" tires, I picked-up a set of 4 Continental ContiProContact tires in size 225/60R16 (the OE size on 1996 & 1997 Thunderbirds/Cougars with sport package) with a speed rating/load index of 98H for $79.00 a tire at Sears!! Apparently this size has been discontinued by Continental and Sears has them on clearance!

Here are 2 pictures of the tire:

I can't remember who did it, but I have seen them on an mn12 before. Personally I think they look too tucked because of the added offset.

There were a few prototype pictures of the 1998 T-Bird posted years ago and I'm sure it was those wheels it had.

It's not a 97 Sport, it just looks like one!

I had my new tires mounted and balanced on my new wheels, then put on my car. Here are a couple of quick pictures I snapped:

I'll take some more pics tomorrow of the whole car and post those, too.

I'll have some new, further back pictures up a bit later today. Those previous pics were taken in the Sears parking lot just after the wheel & tires were mounted and balanced. I had some other things to do, so I didn't have a lot of time to take pictures.

I didn't get a chance to take some pictures of my whole car with these wheels on it tonight because my wife and I had to go to my step-daughter's to give her birthday presents to her.

I'll get some taken and post them tomorrow.

those dont look that bad as far as style and offset. kinda remind me of the older mustang cobra rims.

are these 16x7s? they are a nice choice for newer stock rims. Its funny how the mn12 bolt pattern makes you look for SHO, LS, or other odd ball stockers as upgrades.

They are 16x6.5" wheels and they were used on the 1999 Ford Taurus SHO only (although they were also used, with charcoal paint in the pockets instead of silver sparkle paint like mine, on the 2003 Taurus as part of some option package celebrating Ford's 100th anniversary). The '96-'98 Taurus SHO had completely different wheels.

Yeah, I so wish that our bolt pattern was the same as the Mustang's - I SO want a set of those Mustang Bullitt wheels!

I know you can do the the hub swap and use Mustang wheels, but I'm out of work at the moment and don't have the money to spend on doing that yet! I have had too many other mechanical and suspension things that've demanded my attention first, but I'm sure I'll get around to it. Beside's, I had these wheels sitting around since I got rid of my Sable.

Bird looks good, Dennis! Looks like the window trim needs a little attention though - mine looked like that a few months ago too.

Thanks, Brandon! Yeah, I know the window trim needs attention; I've just had so many other things that've needed attention that I haven't gotten to it just yet! I will be taking care of that soon, though!

My Thunderbird really has come a long way since the day I bought it though, especially considering that I've been laid-off the whole time I've owned it! Thank God for eBay!!
