what was ford thinking......

when they took a car as gorgeous as the mn-12 bird, and put THESE on it :\

I mean, I LOVE the way my car looks, but I can't STAND these wheels, they give me chest pains and jitters just thinking about them. I never thought I'd actually miss the old fan blades I had on my old one. But now I'm really wishing I had a set, LOL.
especially after seeing 94mn1246's bird with the grey fan blades (gorgeous)

I just replaced those same wheels on mine with these:

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of those, either.

I don't mind them. They are most certainly not the nicest looking rims but they are better then steelies.

I have a set that I'd be willing to sell - they even have Firestone FR380 225/60R16 tires on them with at least 50% of the tread left! Let me know if you're interested.

Shipping might be expensive, though, with the tires on the rims

I've got other things I should spend the money on. Plus, like you said, shipping is probably a lot, and if I were going to pay for other wheels then I'd save up for something different; 03 Cobras, SpeedStar/Saleen, or Volvo Pegs.

those do look really nice in black on black. silver on maroon like mine..... NO. LOL.
I have toyed with the idea of stripping the paint off of them, soda blasting them, then polishing them. Just not sure if it would be worth it

You can use any other 16" wheel from the Thunderbird/Cougar (not many other options available going that route, though) or you can use any 16" wheel from the Taurus/Sable as a direct, bolt-on swap (the wheel I have pictured further up this thread that I put on my '97 T-Bird is from a '99 Taurus SHO and my T-Bird is a sport with the bigger front brakes).

Beyond that, if you do a hub-swap, you can use wheels from '94-'04 Mustangs (maybe other years, too), or go to aftermarket wheels if you don't want the expense of a hub-swap and don't like any other Ford wheels.
