Buying some new Ford Rims..

Check it out.. I am going to try something different..

They are the correct bolt pattern, exact same offset, take a Super Coupe size tire.. There are some Taurus guys that run these and they look great.

If you didn't see the Ford oval in the middle, you would think they were aftermarket. Plus, the set I am getting is mint and for a good price.. They are going on after my body work and repaint.

Thumbs up or down on these?

Yea those are windstar rims. I was tempted to see if I could find one to put on my bird and see how they looked.

They are indeed Windstar rims, 16" size. They are kind of off the beaten path for MN12 rims, but I like them.

Gotta love the Taurus bolt pattern!

I didn't buy these since they were scratched up too much. Great condition is subjective I guess.. The ones above are nice as well.

Finally got a set nice enough to put on my Bird ! Next spring, these will be wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Sports. I can't wait!

My buddy wonders when I am adding the sliding rear door. I must admit a part of me wishes we didn't share a bolt pattern with a Windstar!

I like the Taurus rims, only seen them on T-Birds once or twice.

The Windstars are nice too, will T-Bird center caps fit on them?

I don't think so. The T-Bird ones are much larger. I like the Ford ovals myself.

Very Nice!!! I was looking for a set of these back in the spring before I bought my tires.
Even after that my wife did a photoshop of those wheels on my car.

They're only 6.5" wide right? I thought the offset was slightly differant than ours.

In any case they're nice looking wheels

I am not sure if they are 6.5" wide or not. According to Tirerack, the SC and the Windstar take the same P225/60R16 and have a 40mm offset.

Do you have that photoshop pic?

Yessir, However she photoshopped them inside my 15" BF Goodrich tires since we hadn't realized they were 16" wheels

Yeah I was thinking the offset was 40mm on them but I wasn't 100% sure (I also thought they were 15")

Just checked the Ford parts catalogue ... those are shown as 16 x 6.5". Doesn't list the offset though.

I've been trying to find a set of those for a while. I have the ones sousa posted earlier and they will look nice when theyre on.

I love my V8, but I'd love it more if all 8 cylinders worked. (they do now)

My T-bird is like George Jetson's wife, you try to give her a little money, she takes the whole wallet.

i have a set of gen2 taurus sho rims i sprayed black when i had my silver sho, the offset is 3mm less than the offset on my 97bird. the plan is to have these powdercoated/chromed/something and tossed on my car. i havent tested the fitment yet, from what i gather it will be less than 1/4inch more inside the fender than the sport wheels i have now. i wanna do something cool with them, it will most likely be cheaper than getting knockoff cobra r's with our bolt pattern haha

97 green, 4.6L sport package. k&n cold air from an 01gt. so far my best at the strip was 15.808 @ 89mph at new england dragway.

I was going to go with the directional SHO rims but couldn't find anything. I even have center caps that leave off the SHO logo, which would have been perfect for the bird. I wouldn't think that 3mm would matter too much.
