How Can I Fit 28" or 29" Tires?

What is the tallest tire you can fit on these cars?

I've got 16" sport rims and would like to go taller for more ground clearance. I'll probably need to add an adapter up front to push the rim out a little to clear the spindle. Then do the same out back to make it match the front offset.

Has anyone gone taller than stock? What's the limit?

I run 28x11.50-16's on the rear of my XR7 when at the track, and the car is lowered 1". A 29" diameter rear tire shouldn't be any problem at all with a stock suspension. As far as the front goes, you'll need to take some measurements.
