Wheel Info For 1997 T-Bird Sport

My 1997 Thunderbird sport had these wheels on it when I bought it:

Does anyone know what the offset and/or backspacing on the original 1996/1997 sport wheels is? I put a set of wheels from a 1999 Ford Taurus SHO on it shortly after I bought it because the original wheels were in poor shape, and now these wheels need to be replaced because the winter salt has really eaten through the clear-coat and they look really bad now. Plus, I was never really satisfied with how the don't seem to "stick out" far enough into the wheel wells (due, obviously, to different offset and/or backspacing):

I found this wheel that I'm kind of interested in:

Does anyone recognize this wheel? I believe it was included with the 1990 35th Anniversary Thunderbird - can anyone confirm this? Would it have the same offset and/or backspacing as my original sport wheels? Does anyone know if center caps are available for this wheel? Were they black like the painted part of the wheel or silver like the lip?

If anyone has any answers for any of these questions, I'd be really grateful! Thanks!

Dennis

Yes, thats the 35th wheel, same as the 89-92 SC wheel, same offset as the 93-97 SC/sport wheel.

Does anyone know what the offset is on those sport wheels in the top picture that were original equipment on my '97 T-Bird? 40mm? 42mm?

Does anyone know where I can obtain center caps if I buy a set of the 35th Anniversary wheels pictured in the bottom picture, or does anyone have a set to sell? Are there any other T-Bird center caps that will fit those wheels (I can always have them painted to match the wheels, I guess)?

Thanks,

Dennis

39mm

Not sure on center caps, the standard 89-92 SC caps will fit obviously.

Is that 39mm POSITIVE wheel offset?

Let me see if I understand wheel offset correctly; if my T-Bird has wheels with 39mm positive offset, does that mean a wheel with 42mm positive offset will NOT stick-out as far into the wheel openings (or, stick out towards the outside of the car) as the wheel with 39mm positive offset?

Positive, The less (more negative)offset you have the further out the wheels will be.

So, then (and I don't mean to sound stupid here!) a wheel with, say, 42mm POSITIVE offset will stick out further into the wheel openings than the stock wheel with 39mm offset? I'm asking because I'm even considering buying some type of aftermarket wheel and I want to make sure they stick out as far as (or even a tad farther) the stock wheel. I don't want that same look I have with the Taurus wheels I have on it now.

No, the more positive offset you have the further in the wheels will be, the less offset you have the further out the wheels will be.
