Question Advice to use wheels I have

I am looking for suggestions to make it possible to use a set of chrome factory 15 inch wheels on my 97 Tbird that has the sport suspension package that has the larger brake calipers/rotors as the car came with the 16 inch wheels. There is no problem on the rears but they are rubbing on what I think is the calipers and will lock down when you slightly start to tighten. The wheels have a taper as they go in the offset area and it looks like they could be made to work if slightly spaced.Just wondering if anyone has ever attempted to do this and how they made it work.
