I heard that the torque for the lug nut was 85 ftlbs. Reason it was set at the low end on torque was that going any higher would end up warping the rotor during heat build-up when applying the brakes. Is that correct torque?
85 ft-lbs is the Minimum you should set them at. Most of us set them at 100 ft-lbs.

this warped rotor issue seemed to happen when I set them at 100 ft lb. I've replaced two rotors on this car over the years. My understanding was the stock rotors were undersized for this car. This is why I'm trying to remember if it was at 85 ftlb.This is a 92 3.8 base bird not an lx. Anyways,does anyone see any issue at setting them at the low end? Thanks
Not that I can see, as long as all are torqued evenly and you re-torque them after a hundred miles or so.
As for your warped rotors, make sure you aren't getting the cheap "lightweight" rotors most parts places sell:
