You bought 4 lug wheels and you're worried about offset?

FWIW my wheels are 26mm, they're flush with the fenders

Pic linked shows 4x108

The rears occasionally rub of I go too fast over speed bumps but otherwise it's rare and it's never been severe enough to do any damage to the tire or fenders. I'm running 255/45s BTW

I run 275 50 17 nittos on my 17x8s on the rear haven't had any problems other than the tires scrubbing the edge of the wheel well on bumps.

Fanblade repros are 8.5" wheels, 03 Cobras came from the factory with 275/40s on only a .5" wider wheel, I wouldn't worry about it. Having said that, I wouldn't do anything bigger.

Looks good!

Personally for me they stick out a little too far, looks like an inch further out than the 9 inch wide with 5/16 spacers on my 97 Cougar, but not so much that they look out of place.

I have this model, and there are a number of Cougar and Thunderbirds (and Town Cars) like this locally:

and that is too far out of the fender.

Are those repros though? The pic posted of the single wheel in the box looks like it has been converted from 4 on 108 to 5 on 108, which would make it 7.5" wide.

Car looks good with them installed!

cheers

I assume so, since they came in new packaging. Plus those are only sold as 4 lug unless it's a batch order, only way to get them otherwise is to plug and drill.

Ah, OK. Looking at the car, they must be 8.5" for the 275/40 to go on anyway ...
