What rim/colour question

Got these rims along with my bird.

Are those supposed to be silver or light grey? I started to wash silver rims, but finally turned out with light grey.. pressure washer peeled the silver off..what the duck?

What model tbird had these rims originally?

Optional on Base/LX and Cougar LS from 89-92.

They're argent silver stock. I think you pressure washed off the factory silver to the grey bare aluminum

1991-1992 Thunderbird Sports got these wheels as well..

Tipu..

I had these wheels on my Sport originally, and experienced a similar effect..

Being as meticulous as I am..I was always scrubbing on them with a green scotch brite pad to keep the brake dust off..

Eventually the clear finish was worn in places after years of scrubbing, but they still managed to look good for a stock wheel..

If that lack of shine really bothers you..After a good thorough cleaning you could reapply a clear coat to the wheels every once in awhile..

Duplicolor makes an excellent clear wheel paint..I've used on several different grey/silver aluminum wheels with success..

I wonder what Brandon ever did with my old wheels?

Last I knew, kpthefatty was using them for his winter tires.

Thanks again for doing that. Four years ago, almost?

I'm glad I could help..It was also nice seeing those wheels live on instead of going to the scrapper..
