rim size

I know my lx runs a 15 which are near bout impossible to find a used set today i searched i could of got 195 or 235. Didnt knoe if the 235's would of rubbed or not.

Im thinking about upgrading rims to a size thats more commonly found.

Dont the sc's run 14 inch rims while the lx is 15 and the sport birds (spiral swirl rim) run a 16?

No MN12 ever used 14" wheels. SCs, 96/7 Sports, 89-92 XR7s and Mark VIIIs all used 16" wheels, the rest used 15s

235s fit fine, just make sure you select an aspect ratio close to the factory tire height

My aspect ratio is 70. So a 75-80 should be ok right?

My local yard crushed a mint 35th anniversary cougar. They said no one was pulling from it itd been there to long, had to go so i grabbed the wheel hubcaps. Wish ida go the rims..

Depends on treadwidth. For a given rim size, as you increase treadwidth, aspect needs to go down to maintain diameter. Total tire height needs to be within a few percent of the original size to maintain speedo accuracy.

There are a handful of tire size calculators out there you can play with. Optimal diameter for the MN12 is about 26.5".
