Skinny 16" tires

What is the skinny-est 16" tire avail.?

I'm considering narrowing a pr. of '89 XR-7 rims & putting skinnies on'em, for drag racing.

A 165/80/16 (6.5" wide section width!) is almost the exact diameter/circumference as the OEM 225/60/16's.

I considered using 16" doughnuts, but they aren't suppose to go over 50 mph.

Any Ideas?

Could you use the 16" donut wheel and put a normal tire on it? Also does it have to be a 16?

your not going to find those tires, or even 185/75-16. If you want skinnies it's either donuts or actual drag skinnies.

Just get a 15" spare rim and mount a 165R15 tire on it. Its a metric tire for VW bugs. They fit perfect and are dirt cheap
