Wheel Weight Rating
What is the minimum weight rating for a rim that will be put on a 96 Thunderbird? I figure the car weighs 4000lbs (erring on the fatter side to be safer).. so.. wouldn't 4000/4 equal 1000lbs per wheel? How much of a margin do I need to have to make sure I don't bust something when loaded with passengers?
Are there any companies that make light weight alloys for our cars? I looked at Center Line's stuff and they some goodlooking, lightweight rims in our bolt pattern(42mm offset) but they're only rated around 1200 lbs...
*whistles* Boyd Coddington is even more expensive than Center Line. Yeesh. So.. a wheel rated at 1200 lbs is too light-duty for these cars? I've emailed center line, but I dunno how much help they're going to be.
