5x4.5 Bolt Pattern, 56k'ers be patient

As you can see the Mustang offset fits quite nicely.

You can see many more pictures by clicking here :

Braking is now effortless in comparison to the stockers. As soon as the Group purchase springs come in and it is lowered I will be getting a lower profile nicer set of tires.

I'd like to give a big thanks to BLOWN38 for hooking me up here. He really knew the ropes when it came to doing this conversion.

Eric

Edit: Ooopsy, meant 5x4.5. lol

That beer bottle biting hussy is definetly a baaaad influence. Now that Christine "The Belle Bird" has a new set of "implants" (Boobular or Testicular is yet to be determined. ) I imagine the old SS will be influenced in an even more drastic ways.

Car looks good and ohhhh cobra brakes. I can't wait to put mine on. Where did you get yours from and did you get a good price? I am looking at 399 right now for rotors, pads, calipers/brackets, and SS lines. That car will look great with a 1 in. drop.

Thanks for all the comments!

Cam, what are your plans for center caps? I dont want anything with a cobra or mustang on it... but I haven't really seen anything else for those wheels.... just plain black would be nice. Are you going to reuse your current 235/55/17 tires? They are a good fit for stock ride hieght. I'm still trying to decide on a tire size for when it is lowered.....

I wish I could take all the credit but BLOWN38 (aka Chris) really did most of it. He was nice enough to allow me to help him along the way.

96bird I sent you a PM......

Eric,

For now I plan on using the center caps that come with the wheels. I am still going to use my 235/55/17 tires. My car is lowerd 1.5" and the tires fill the wheel well nicely. I recommend the size. As a matter of fact, it is the size they are using on the 05 Mustang GT with the 17" rim. Also used on Crown Vic Sports. I have the Kuhmo KH-11's and love them (Thanx JL for the recommendation!). Have not researched other center cap options. Trying to get this project of mine finished and the caps are the least of my worries. Maybe after the engine is in I will look into it. You can probably get one of the companies like Dante designs to make them, just depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. I'll post up some pics of mine when finished. We are shooting for next week.

Cobra brakes are not required for the swap. I have the Mustang PBR calipers up front so I can use the stock Mustang rotor there (with the stang hub of course ) and for the rear used stock T-bird rear rotors with the hub hole drilled out for the larger bore Cobra hub and was drilled for the Mustang bolt pattern, these were from Breeze Automotive. Eric used the same rear rotors in his swap.

Thomas.... Daaayuuuum!!! I am so there! If those GP lowering springs don't show up soon; I'm gonna have to get a set of H&R's, that just looks way too good.

Oh trust me those horses are soooo gone, as soon as I can find some blank caps.....

Actually there is an interesting almost BS sounding story behind that warning.

I was driving home from doing the Bolt Pattern swap and got pulled for 65 in a 55. The conversation started out about my failure to comply with the posted speed limit. Things started looking up though when he asked me about my obviously new wheels though... Apparently he's a Mustang guy all into cars and everything. We talked about the bolt pattern conversion and car clubs and all that good stuff. When he went back to his car I thought for sure I was still getting a ticket, but instead he just gave me one of these:

Warnings may be gay, but they beat the heck out of an insurance rate hike. I can honestly say that is my only warning ever, and I have the bad driving record to prove it.

We don't need tickets here in Florida for rate hikes.. the insurance lobby takes care of that for us.. they just bumped my premiums 30% for no reason other than the legislature said they can.. and everyone is getting about the same hike....

Scott's waiting for those springs too, so he can start putting GB back together from the ground up.. If what they told Gordon is true, they should clear customs and about ready to ship in a week or so... I hope, I hope...

5x 5.5 eh?

I have had a 94 GT and my uncle had a 96 and my friend has a 2000 Steeda GT and all of them have 5 x 4.5

Same like the Ranger. All stang rims fit rangers, actually I have stang rims on my ranger.

Ya'll need to start taking liberties with yer own dang cars... Just because I affectionately call her the Silver Slut doesn’t mean she is one.....

In VA they are intolerable as heck of window tinting. I forget the exact % of tint you can get away with but most anything even a hair over factory tint will fetch you a ticket in a jiffy.

Eric,

Whenever you post pix of your car on this site, you risk that someone with photoshop will play with it.. I'm not sure why, I don't see it happening on other sites, but it has happened to me occasionally here.

I suppose we're expected to be good sports and let it go.. Let them have their "fun."

I like the way she looked Commerce, I like the new look even better, and Gordon's springs will be perfect.. (I'm waitin' for em, too).....

Hope you're planning the trip in November. See if you can't drag Mike V, Mike S, Tony and the rest of the gang from up/and/over there with ya this year... There's a 12 and a couple of 13 second runners planning on coming up from FL, and with Scott and the Texas contingent we should put on a pretty good show.

Scott says GB might be ready by then.... .. I hope so, I don't want to race the '95, I'll have the 16 second class all to myself

-mike

Mike has fallen victim to a photoshop or two. I think it is all in fun though. I personally do not have the software myself but think what can be done is pretty neat! This thread I know is Mike's favorite! Scroll down.
