road rash

I'm looking to completly restore my 96-97 sport rims that have a little road rash on the edge of the rim. Any suggestions on how to fix that? Maybe some type of filler i can add to the rim and then sand down? Any ideas? Plus any recommended means of cleaning and polishing the rims?
