Goodyear assurance tripletred

I just had a set of 225/60/16 goodyear assurance tripletred tires put on my 97 bird and i love them so far. just wondering if anyone else has any input about these tires. also, im thinking about getting them filled with nitrogen but not quite sure if its worth the money because it costs $5 per tire. on a side note i went to a ford dealership to get these tires and they have a deal going that when you buy a set of premium goodyear tires you get a free ipod nano, so now im just waiting for it to arrive in the mail! thanks in advance for your input

I had them on my 96 and they were great in everything except snow and ice

i have them right now. pretty good dry & in the rain, i thought they were pretty decent in the snow, but i don't see anything like what litning would run into.

Did they still come with the 80,000 mile warranty?

I had em and thought they were pretty good. However, I got just about as good of performance from a set of General tires, which were much better than other tires I bought such as Continentals or BF Goodrich. My next tires will probably be a set of Eagle F1s.

The tires on my prius came nitrogen filled.

1400 miles and no pressure change. I wouldn't pay $20 to have them filled though, especially when I have an air compressor in the garage.

well goodyear has a oxybutyl inner liner which is something they do differently from other manufacturers that are supposed to help with pressure lose.
Well thats what the goodyear training rep told me in my service manager training class ... so nitro isnt needed ... i can double check my book but i dont think goodyear recommends.
... how much they run $$$ i can get them for 126 each.

Pressure will change from temperature change and that's the advantage of nitrogen. I'm cheap and just check and adjust my pressures often.
Unless you have a leak you will not lose air. You only lose pressure if it gets cold out. On the same note, you will need to lower the pressure if you filled in the winter and not lost any air come spring time.

air has about 80% nitrogen but runnin nitrogen it doest hurt the nitrogen inside the tire stayes cooler then air so the tire is cooler i guess this is why they say that tires last longer just how much longer i dont know .

Another thing i was told about Nitrogen, don't know if it is true or not.

Nitrogen Molecules are like 5 times larger than regular air molecules, which helps prevent leaks.... the bigger molecules cant get through the small holes like normal air.

No it’s not an English class; it is an automotive forum. But when I have to read a run on sentence, with no punctuation, 3-4 times to figure out what is trying to be said it makes it difficult to know what is being discussed.

I didn't do it to piss anyone off, and I'm sorry if that was the result. I probably could have done it in a nicer way and I probably should have. I'm sorry I even bothered mentioning it. But mostly I'm sorry that someone who is 23, and has the intelligence and skill to build such a beautiful, not to mention powerful car doesn't think that writing skills are necessary when using a method of communication that is purely written. I'll drop the subject now.

I sort of thought it was funny. I understand that it is very easy to misinterpret what is only the written word with no inflections, no gestures, no glances to add direction as to the writer's true meaning. When typing, all we have are "the letters" and a few smileys ... and I am just a capable of screwing it up as the next guy.

I agree though, that run on sentences with no breaks, no punctuation, and no capital letters can be a chore to read. It is also true that they may sometimes be interpreted as simple lazziness on the writer's part. It's not that I did so in this case, but there have been many times I came upon a longer post on a board and just went on to the next post without further reading after the first few words for that very reason.
