Question on body panels

Hey guys correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all 89-97 Tbird/Cougar front fenders the same other than the 96-97 beltline molding? I'm planning to take my'96 down to the metal and respray it next year and since I'm removing the beltline molding I've been toying with the idea of going with a '94-'95 nose and front/rear bumper and hood with a '92 grill and GM headlights. I'm keeping the two tone and the red but insted of the current grey going with '99-'04 Mineral Grey (TK).

Yes the fenders are the same other than the holes for the molding. It might be easier for you to replace them anyway to avoid of plugging all the holes in them and the doors though. I like your plan, I like 94/5s with clear headlights way more

FWIW the beltline is techincally the term for the area above the fenders and below the windows.

Hey thanks , I thought they were I wasn't sure about the cut-ins for the coner lights. Yeah I meant to say body molding a.k.a the ugly round crap that makes my car look fat.


Also another question, does this part of the bumper cover detach , I've never looked at my brothers '93 and it's currently 800 miles away. I was thinking it would look really good on a '94/'95 Cougar.

Superglue won't work, but they do make epoxies and adhesive backings that are used for repairing bumper covers, so you could make it happen if you had both bumper covers to work with. The materials aren't exactly cheap, so you'd probably have around $150 just in material to make it work, plus the cost of both bumper covers, plus the time and paint, but if you've got patience, it could be done.

-91 Cougar LS, coming soon, complete overhaul with a 427" Windsor.
-90 XR7 5-speed black on black w/sunroof, MP2, coated rotors, double intercooler, 15%OD, ported heads, comp stage 1 cam, 85mm TB, 90MM LMAF, 80# injectors, and ported big valve heads
-98 Mark VIII LSC, Procharger P600b, TR3650 swap and 3.73s.
-90 SC Automatic rustbucket winter beater
-97 Tbird Sport 4.6 Nice weather daily driver

Talked to my brother and he said he could produce a mold from both pieces and make it in fiberglass. He's a heavy truck bodyman and painter.

You doing SC GFX all around? I don't see the appeal of grafting that piece on otherwise. I always thought it looked mismatched on LXs

I wouldn't make a front bumper out of fiberglass. Sooner or later, it is going to get bumped or scraped on something, and instead of flexing like a normal bumper cover, it will crack and break, and require a lot of work to fix it and have it look decent.

I figure its worth a shot at this point it will be off the daily driver list. Also it deems the Mark / Cobra bumpers seem to be holding up well from what I have read.

Nothing wrong with fiberglass, as long as you dont hit any curbs or anything else. The materials to epoxy repair a urethane bumper arent that expensive either. Either way, good luck with the project, I think it would look pretty good if you can pull it off.

Thanks . I think I may start on the bumper this summer. I have access to a free 93 lx nose and a 95 XR7 nose back home.
