Question Looking for parts

I recently purchased my 1991 thunderbird with a few little issues. The front fender was dented, where the previous owner epoxied the front headlight bracket (the plastic piece that runs from left to right side of car). This is the bracket that holds the headlamps and turn signal lamps in place. I'm trying to find the name of the part so I can locate it on the market, either new or sitting around someone's yard. Any suggestions?

It's called a "header panel"
* They have one for a 95 tbird on rockauto.com but I'm pretty sure shipping will kill you.
* I'm also pretty sure 89-93 cars use a different header panel

It's a header panel, and the TBird and Cougar panels are different (except for 1996 and 1997), and yes, the 1991 panel is different than the 1994 panel for TBirds.

Your best bet may be a U-Pull-It yard, although I'm not sure what years interchange (I THINK 1989-1993, BICBW on that.)

I know the Factory header panels are made out of ABS plastic..The same thing the the outside door handles are made out of on the 89-95 MN12's..

Very tuff stuff..When's the last time you seen one of the early MN12 outside door handles broke?

After watching that video..I plan on staying very far away from aftermarket header panels for our cars..Thanks for the heads up!

My 95 door handel broke.
Kinda silly video, he wanted it done on the cheap, now he's pissed.

Quickest N/A Modular MN12.

I Actully Pulled One From The yard Not To Long Ago. It Was A 97, Not Too Hard Just Alot Of Hidden bolts

Thank you, I'll look for it. Now I now what it is. I bought this car in May and at first, my goal was to use it as a daily beater car. My two brothers jumped up in joy, telling what KIND of car this is, with its Independent rear suspension, HO 302 motor. My brother Dave called it the S/S Luxury model of the Ford Mustang. He loves the cougars. 1967 to be exact. I'm trying to fix it up and soup it up with the works (including paint job).

I noticed. $136 for a mirror switch! $160 for headlight switch! I'll go to pick n pull. Most local parts stores don't stock parts for thunderbirds, and high performance parts, FORGET A BOUT IT!

Where the hell would you buy those mentioned parts at those prices? You are right; you can pull them at the JY yourself but you can just as easily find someone who is/has parted out a car here on TCCOA or on SCCOA who will sell you these parts for a tiny fraction of the pricing you've quoted above. For example, I have all those parts and I'm happy to sell them off just to make room in my garage and get a few bucks to defray my 24 hours of lemons racing expenses.

As far as high performance parts are concerned, there are some tbird specific "gotchas" (ex: header placement/routing based on the steering shaft position) but much of the go-faster knowledge for the 5.0, 3.8L, and 4.6L engines is the very similar to a Mustang.

For example, a 91-93 5.0 is functionally similar to a 94-95 Mustang 5.0. As far as tuning is concerned though, you may need to replace your ECU with a Mustang ECU to take advantage of better quarterhorse support. A lot can still be done with the stock ECU to net higher perf like a GT40 head swap + cam upgrade though.
