1996 Exterior B pillar paint or vinyl?

What is it exactly on a 96 that Ford used on the exterior of B pillar? Is it paint, some space age vinyl stuff? Whatever it is I want it gone.

In your case it looks like vinyl. I've seen them both ways from the factory. looks like it's in good shape on yours though

Is there a decent way of getting that off? It's quite faded and shows every little fingerprint. I had an 08 Lancer GTS years ago with vinyl that I removed which was fairly easy. This does not seem like that.

It's just like peeling off a pricetag, start picking away at the top corner slowly and you can usually get a big enough grip on it to peel big chunks off. Then you need to remove the remaining adhesive with goo gone or something

And after you get it all removed, you get to paint it all over again! Though I get the impression that your intention is not to paint it.

I paint mine flat black, which isn't as flat as it sounds.

Oh, the plan is to paint it...and the entire car. But that won't happen till next year probably. Spent too much this year already

If that's the case, a DA will take it off in a hurry.
