I agree with Deus003. I've seen ricers that just wired on a bunch of 12 inch neons for 12 volt cigarette lighters under their car. And then I've seen some really sweet cars around that look really nice with them. You can get them pretty cheap from eBay too.

I must not have paid much attention, but I only saw about a half-dozen cars in high school with neons. Of course, that was six years ago, but it was around.

Reason for this poll:
I'm thinking of having some underbody neons put on my car, after I get some decent ground effects. Blue is illegal unless you're a cop around here, and red wouldn't look right with a green car. So, I'm stuck with green. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone thought it looked too gay or what.

Bad. Sometimes good, but Id rather have 4.10s for the 500 or whatever they cost.

That's my position too. That money could go to lots of other stuff, including other appearance stuff.

I have the green neons on my car too. Yeah my car is green and I didn't want to go with any other colors cause it wouldn't match right... I'd post a pic, but the camera hasn't ran out of film yet and I don't wanna take more pics of my car...Anyways, I'm not sure about where I mounted them...I will post the pic and ask for some help later...Anyways I wanted to tell you to go ahead and do it. Hardly anyone around here has them on their cars...Maybe the ricers don't know the HP gains from these babies

they are directional...and you have them on the wrong direction.

Check the picture of my 92 sport, and then look at yours.

No actually tazer... your's are backwards compared to Danimals. If someone rotated them and put them on the oppisite side, that would cause them to be "backwards." But who knows... Danimal's could be backwards. Look on your pic, The spook is poiniting striaght foward. Look at danimal's, His is pointing to the back.

Aslo, I have not once seen anyone with underbody lights at my highschool. But I do know some people that have them and seen a lot around. I have even seen a 60's Impala with them. And this dude looked like he is in his late 30's or early 40's

Someone is blowing what up my what?

Your blind dude...look at the picture. Your spokes point forwards and they are supposed to point backwards.

Just stating the obvious,

I think they only look good if you put enough on to make the car look like it's floating on a cloud of light. But the cars with only 4 tubes just don't look right. The entire undercarriage needs to be flooded with light. It's not cheap, and it's not easy, but that's they only way it looks good to me.

The only problem with the "cloud of light" idea is that the roads around here are too crappy. If they started going out, that's more money spent. That is, unless, the neon tubes are stronger than I'm thinking they are.

Cool, more posts on this subject than I was expecting. You care, you REALLY REALLY CARE!!!

In some ways, the neons are stonger than you think, but also weaker than you think..Take me fro example..I was installing my passenger noen and the inside of the tube broke cause of too much pressure...Yet the drivers side was on, the hanger broke so the tube was draggin for quite a while and it still works...I guess it just matters on the circumstance...just a tid bit og info for ya...

about the color

I think green would look nice on a green car. I think neons look sweet no matter what color they are (unless they're fairy!). To bad Virginia is for lovers and not car enthausists cus you can't have anything on you're car here. I just found out that my indiglo ford emblem is illegal cus it's blue and some moron might confuse me with an Ambulance!

Friend put some on his probe. Bought blue ones from somebody that got a ticket to take them off. Got them for 100 bucks. He had to get a shift boot or something replaced so he took the car in and when they jacked it up they broke both side neons. He got them to pay for them. 500 bucks. HAHAHAH this was 3 days after he put them on.

Haha, my tubes and my friends tubes light up the exact same. Mine are reactor and I have a lifetime warranty on them against breakage that cost $20. So lets see, I am up to $120 for them and 2 12" neons, compared to whatever for the streetglow ones (all yo pay for there is the name)
