If you're really looking to save a buck, go to the body shop and discuss ways you can save money. remember that the estimate is full of nickel-dime $hit that you can do yourself. It does need some time with a frame guy, but the frame dept will get at least one hour labor for frame setup alone. if youve ever seen it done youll know why. expect 2-3 hrs labor for the work. have them install the fenders only and hold them responsible for producing real nice hood gaps. tell them youll deal with the lights, bumper, header panel, all paint work. try to get a solid, barebones written estimate.
And if the guy gives you any crap at all, pick another shop. one that appreciates customers through the door. you might even negotiate the labor rate paying cash.
