What is that, copper?
It's definately different.
What kind of paint is it? If it's laquer, it will look great if you carefully wetsand it and polish it out.
I'm not sure if you can sand and polish an enamel or urethane finish.

Its basecoat/clearcoat urethane. You can polish and wetsand urethane clearcoat. I made sure with the paint shop before I chose what type of paint. The color is Amber Fire Pearl Metallic...a dodge color from like 2000. I got the idea when I saw some of the newer explorers and loved them...went and priced a gallon of just the basecoat. It was like $666 a gallon at Carquest. They said it had some kinda expensive pearl in it because it's really hard to make pearl show up in orange paint blah blah. So I dug around till I found a close color that was ~$100 for a gallon of the basecoat. I'll agree it is kinda wierd, but I like it Maybe I'm just sick bastard.

BTW: I'm surprised no one has made fun of my LF tire sitting so close to the rear of the fender....see what not having a front strut rod bushing does to you!?!

I've heard that about the paints. My dad works for carquest and mixes paint (So I've already got a line when I get mine repainted). Some of those factory colors get VERY expensive. He told me that he found a black w/ pearl coat paint from a lexus that would look good on my car, over $300 a gallon, at cost.

Yeah...damn pearl colors Another one of my initial ideas was to paint the car silver and put House Of Kolors candy green over it so it would look like antifreeze... yeah scratch that!! It's amazing how expensive paint can get.

sounds like a nice color. thing of it is, is that silver is the cheapest color to buy, and the candy is only 40bux/qt, right. sounds like a cheap color to me. solid red would be 3x more easily.

I am painting mine 03 cobra yellow it's called zinc yellow. It's costing me about 400 bucks to paint my whole car. I love autobody school . It should only take about 1 gallon to paint a car depending on color with hvlp spray guns.I have pics of my interior already painted.

I have seen a 96/97 in that color before up here at school but don't think that person posts here even though the car looked to have some work done (paint, rims, suspension, interior). I like it, it's different. Lower it and add some 18" rims that are gunmetal or black with a polished lip and it will look hot.

it would take some getting used to but i suppose i could live with that color, not too many birds floating around that color, so it would be different, i think i'll be getting mine painted eventually, i'll be going with a silver w/ blue pearl, i'll see if my uncle will hook me up, he paints cars at a dealership, and he's in good with the body shop mgr so booth time shouldn't be a problem, lol.....

One of them would be this one. http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...page_id=646747

It's my brother's. Of couse, I think his bird's color is a little darker, but I'd have to see the other in person.

Damn dude! for a minute I thought the pics on his cardomain were mine! lol He did the jambs just like I did and even has a ghetto paint booth like me and my hood was white before spraying and the car was stripped down. That bird looks clean as hell. His turned out much better than mine. I'm in the process of getting a set of Bullitt wheels. Too bad I'm gonna be drilling my hubs though.

How interesting. I, too, thought of thought about having my 94 in that color at one time. First car I saw in that color that made me think about was the latest Nissan 300Z(?). Really, though, that almost looks like it could've/should've been a factory color.
Really liked the one on the cardomain link, that color really is nice contrast to black gauges, steering wheel, etc.
Nice to finally see a bird in that color.
