black trim going yellow

I've got a 90 cougar and the black trim that goes around my whole car is coming off and it's an ugly yellow underneath. I've notice the same thing on other mn12 that are around my cars age and I was wondering if there was any way to touch it up.

thanks

Hi Porter, welcome to TCCOA .

The yellow is the color of the urethane that composes the bumper cover.

The black strip is nothing but a trim piece, and you could either find a way to glue the thing back down, or rip it off altogether and either paint the recessed area black, or body color.

Any pics of the Cat you could post?

Kevin.

no no no...

dude save time ripping it off and re applying. Go to advanced auto (or equivelent) and buy some semi-gloss black bumper trim paint and some masking tape. Tape it off and paint your trim. Looks great onces its done, I did this when I did my Sc conversion and put on all the SC trim. It was dull so I painted all of it and it looks great.
