Stock hood on a 94 bird

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything to answer the question I'm looking for. Here soon I'm wanting to look into a Cobra R hood for my 94. In order to get that hood I have to sell my stock hood so I can have the money to put towards the new hood. I've tried to find out what the going rate is price wise for stock hoods. Mine is practically brand new. I had it put on after my wreck and that was just 3 years ago. The car hasn't been drivin that much because it's not an everyday driver. The only thing is the hood will have to be sanded down and repainted. Could someone tell me what stock hoods have sold for in the past or what they sell new so I can base it off that. Thanks so much

I don't know what they go for used, but I know what a shop wants to quote a new one at from Ford. I just had an estimate done for the damage on my 95, and a stock hood goes for $650. Hope that helps. It has helped me decide that I am getting a fiberglass hood, lol.

These are highly engineered precision vehicles, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to strike the suspected offending part sharply and repeatedly with a blunt object, then re-test.

If I can't get the Cobra hood I want, then I might just take that. I am still in "talks" w/ State Farm about what they want to give me for the car. Apparently, they have never heard of anyone replacing their own transmission, let alone other parts If I can't get my Cobra hood, then I'll PM you and see if one is still avail.

thunderchik isn't trying to buy a hood, she's trying to sell one and wants to know how much she should let it go for.

i've had my stock hood for a lil over 3 years now and haven't been able to sell it. I took it off b/c i got the cobra r hood and have posted it a few times, but nothing has ever came of it. Goodlucking selling it---and if you know someone who needs two hoods or someone that wants one (besides yours) let me know

Exactly there doesn't seem to be much demand for them and the shipping would be more than the hood is worth

I ended up putting mine on ebay as a pick up only item. Had a guy buy that and the header panel for $100 total after I ended the bidding early.

That sucks. I can't believe those things go for $650 brand new but they can be sold used to save a life. I didn't know about this site when I wrecked my car. If I did I could have avoided this by getting the Cobra R hood. Then I didn't even know there were after market hoods for birds. I'll give it a try when I'm ready to by my new hood. Thanks so much everybody
