The new addition to the Kitty for 2005 is a 24K gold Plated grill!

Humm… To gold plate or chrome plastic you need to do the following:

Clean the part
Copper and Nickel electroplate the part via vacuum metalizing
Clean the part
Chrome/ gold plate the part just as if it was metal

The above is for real (not imitation) chrome. Now, once the part is prepped it can be re-chromed assuming it is in great condition. I wonder what the "gold plating machine" does?

I do know that there are few shops that can put real chrome on plastic that never had chrome before. It is just as hard to find a shop that can gold plate plastic or even metal.
