trunk locked

So over the weekend, I added a dynamat trunk kit to my car and used the expandable foam on my car. While i now have no more rattles, and my system sounds alot better, I can't open my trunk. I am guessing some of the foam got into the lock and its closed it up. I can put my key in the keyhole and turn it, but it dosent do anything. Pressing the button in the center counsole, while it used to be a "clicking" sound, now is just a "knocking" sound. I have tried lifting up with all my strength, nothing. I am deciding on to drill a hole where my license plate it and hoping I can see whats wrong. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Would a locksmith have any ideas?

You will also have to remove the x-brace

What exactly is the "x-brace"? What purpose does it serve? The only thing I can think of is to support where the 3ed brake light is. Could I take it out? How hard is that to do?

You will see the x-brace when you remove the back seat. It will prevent you from reaching the trunk lock. You can unbolt it from the back seat.

A little late but when that happens get a buddy to get in the car and start just pushing the button while you "bounce" the trunk up and down. Then turn the rubber bumpstops on the corner of the trunk up a little more. The same thing happens when you put too much stuff in the trunk, it has to go down before it can come up.
