legal headlight covers

does anyone know where to find headlight covers for the 83 birds? i have a HOT ROD magazine from 84 that had one of the feature birds with flat, clear covers that realllllty helped the cars styling. but i just cant seem to find any clear covers, all i see are blacked-out and smoke ones...

You can make your own from 1/8" thk. lexan.

You could trace the pattern from the car itself.

Is the headlight cover the same as on the 83 T-Bird?

I saw some being advertised by Autosupermart

no, fox birds have two different sets, 83-86 and 87+88

you could buy some black/smoked ones and then remove the coating on the inside.

Autoventshade sells some clears...not sure if for your bird.

Another idea is static cling film, you can get it at Walmart for $10, it comes in 20% (dark), or 35% (lighter).

I've just put 20% on my parking lamps and turn lamps on the Marquis, and it looks great. Of course, black cars always look good with black lights.
