mustang badging

i just had an idea, i envisioned my thunderbird with the "5.0" emblems off a 80s mustang above the "electronic fuel inyection" on each side of the car. What do you all honestly think...good idea or complete stupidity?

(the first time i drove my t bird into my schools auto shoppe it was met with alot of criticism, mainly "slow grandpa car". Amongst alot of anti-mycar mumbling i opened the hood and there was silence, then i heard someone whisper "oh s**t, its a five liter". I know my car is not very fast but "5.0" seemed to shut them up )

Good idea.

I like my emblem I put on personally, it usually entices a few races when I spout off bs about my car and how it is so fast being just aV6 then some car challenges me. Even if I lose, they still give me respect for keeping up,

badges

I have the chrome 5.0 badges on my 92 5L. I think they look good, and they helped discourage all the friggin Neon's and Focus' around here from messing with me.

I would like to do that with some sort of "4.6" emblem, but they only ones I see are the full "GT, 4.6 liter" emblems, not just 4.6. I always wondered why ford didn't put the "5.0" emblem on 5.0 equipped Birds and Cats. I think it would look sweet. But from the perspective of "discouraging" rice races, I think it would bring on even more. You may gain more respect when they see "Hey, it's a 5.0", but they will also say "Is it as fast a 5.0 'Stang?", so I think that you have to back up that bravado. Get some gears and a sweet sounding exhaust system first. Then slap them on there. Great idea, though.

sorry, but a 5L SO (sh*tty output) in a fox bird does make it a "slow grandpa car". so you better get modding

i agree greenbird, i think i read somewhere on here that the stock 5.0 fox body birds and cougars only have 140 horses. Well, my 93 3.8 was also rated at 140 hp and it was slow as sh*t. Luckily i just bought a 97 4.6L bird.

5.0

The 5.0 is the best sounding engine I think IMHO. It is amazing how people would talk **** to me in my 88 t-bird and then i would just say, "hey its got a 5.0" Then they would shut up. I didnt tell them it only had 155 hp, but besides the point. First put on exhaust and then the emblems.
