removing lens from LED assembly

someone mentioned back when i broke my taillight, that someone wrote up a how-to for removing the lens from the assembly.. anyone have a link?

my taillight is going to two people once i get the new one in.. one person wanted the LED strip and another wanted the actual assembly, and it'd be nice if i didn't have to break it apart.

well, since you're the one that wants the assembly, how do you want me to take it apart? i'm figuring i'm just gonna crack the rest of the plastic off.

If you are just going to break it open, break the red side open, and not the black side, otherwise you may break the reflector housing. You will then see two sheet metal screws that hold the reflector housing on to the black plastic piece.

I'm mainly interested in the area around the reflector and led strip being intact. That way I can make sure my circuit will fit.
