Hood Pins

Where's a good location to mount hood pins on a 97 Bird? Anyone got pictures?
Thanks

A good place to secure them would be instead of the rubber stoppers.. John Jackson has done it this way.

If you put hood pins on a car can you get rid of the factory hood latch?

TCCoA, there's no better way.

Yah, they will hold the hood down instead of the latch.

Re-word

I guess I should be a little more clear. Where should I mount the posts? Pictures would be helpful. I think Danman is still working that.

That's what I meant, sorry.

Under the hood there is two rubber feet that screw up and down so you can adjust the height of the hood.

You can take those out and mount the pins there. No holes to drill (in the frame) and it's a rather sturdy place.

I cut a small hole in the frame rail that is right next to the post that holds the hood in place. I will take some pics. Sorry, but tonight just turned out to be a bad night. I will take some pics tomarrow evening after work.

Danman, SD and Homer,
Thanks for the info on this.
Danman, If you don't get he pictures in soon that's OK. I probably won't mount them until next Spring anyways. So no hurry.
Thanks again,
Mark
