Hood question

Guys i was wondering, The material under the hood (black) can you take that out and not have problems with the hood getting to hot on a stock hood??. I really dont like the way it looks and theres some spots that are torn. If possible i would luv to rip it out so i dont have to look at it

I honestly don't think that it will bother your hood too much at all. I know there are a few people on here with out theirs. I need to get mine tore out one of these days too, as it's falling apart and getting crap all over the engine.

I never reinstalled the one on my XR7 after repainting the car, and I haven't had any problems without it.

i went out to check my oil on my 90 cougar a few years ago and when i opened the hood the black crap thing stayed on top of the motor im glad i checked it when i stopped or i might caught on fire! but i just threw it away at the gas station and drove it around for another year and a half with no problems at all
