Cougar enbalm removal

Hey. I've been wanting to take off the cougar sybol right behind the side windows. How is this stuck on there? Any suggestions?

Thank you

As far as I know it's the same way the V8 emblems are stuck onto the fenders. To remove the V8 emblems, it's best to use fishing line.

After you get them off, I think...goo-gone should take off the remaining glue.

I'm pretty sure there are some holes under those emblems. Though I could be wrong. Somebody more knowledgeable on cougars may be able to confirm or deny if you plan on removing the emblems and leaving them off.

There are three nuts behind each one. You have to remove the panel inside to get at them, then you have to fill the holes.

They've been like that for years. Both my '86 and '88 had three studs with 8mm "quick nuts" holding them on.
Certain years, however, you can swap special edition or XR-7 emblems onto an otherwise normal car.
