Gold plating???

I would like to gold plate my thunderbird on the front end (emblem). anyone knows anything or anyone that does this??????

This looks like it might work: http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/plugnplate.htm assuming the emblem is chromed and not cheap plastic look-a-like.

there are some thunderbirds with the gold emblem. I have seen a couple on ebay. Just keep your eyes peeled and check the yards. Maybe post it in the wanted section. Besides the emblems are plastic.

A friend of mine used to do custom gold plating of car trim with a portable unit he took with him. I don't know the details, and haven't seen him in a long time. I'm sure you could track someone down who does that - check your yellow pages.

only problem though the after thought plating turns green, the caddy dealer i used to work for had a person who came out to do that, and she would constantly be there redoing stuff that they did oh 6 months ago or so
