I was under my 97 Thunderbird 4.6 , working other issues, and I noticed the exhaust is "stamped" above the rear axle. Is this a factory clearance thing, or is it smashed? Also, what is a cheap and easy way to lose the 3rd cat? Im in GA, emissions inspection exempt!
Thanks for the help. I would love to do a complete exhaust, but I'm cheap. I've been looking at the magnaflow y pipe, not a bad price but I really dont have the facilities to do it right. Maybe down the road a ways...
There's a dyno max cat back that is supposed to have decent gains. Search it on the forums you'll find a couple threads on it. Probably more expensive than the y pipe. But either one will give some power.
If you have plans to do the entire exhaust later then I would save your money and do it all at once.
Go see a muffler shop in a quiet area; he may do an exhaust cheap.
