HID Retrofit kit with projectors GP

I'm in the midst of a group purchase on HID retrofit kits that include projectors. The cheapest price for these I could find on ebay was $145 each, shipped from China.

WHAT? A complete HID w/ projectors retrofit kit. Kit includes ballasts, projectors, bulbs, harness, and mounting hardware. You will need to supply your own wire and connectors to interface with your car's electrical system. Pictures below.

Note that I am also able to place an order for a kit complete with projectors, bulbs, harness and hardware without ballasts for a slightly cheaper price as well. PM me if you are interested and I will inquire about availability and get you a price quote.

HOW MUCH? Price will be no more than $130-135 shipped to the lower 48 each, depending on the final number of kits ordered. Multiple kits sold per person will get a discount on shipping. Any international orders PM me for a quote with shipping.

WHEN? I'm setting the cut-off date for the first batch of orders for the end of this month. I'd expect the orders should be in before mid-late February, although I am not certain of date at this time. After I receive the kits it should be another 3-5 business days to your door. Who wants to install HIDs and projectors in the cold anyway?
Any orders that are placed after the first "batch" has been fulfilled will be cued to a later date until the minimum order threshold is once again reached.

HOW? Let me know your preferences for each kit with one kit per line. Also be sure to include your zip code so I can get an accurate shipping total.
List the bulb type (for us MN12s it's 9007), angel eyes color (blue or white), and the bulb color temperature (4300, 6000, 8000k only for blue angel eyes, 5000, 6000 and 8000k only for white angel eyes).

Example:
9007, White, 5000k

I will contact the manufacturer when I have the final order ready on Feb. 1 and determine price for each person ordering when the manufacturer forwards me a total due. I will need full payment no later than Feb. 5th so I can place the order in an expedient fashion. It is essential that each person follow through with their orders otherwise price and availability of the group purchase may be affected for others. If you decide to cancel, I will need to know before the end of the day on January 31. I will accept paypal +3% as well as a postal money order. Shipping will be USPS Priority on my end and I will provide tracking information once I ship them.

Full details on installation of these kits can be found here: http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=125199

That's just the normal driving beam. The high beams aren't any brighter, the light is just allowed to shine further down the road. IE, the cutoff shadow is removed. Feel free to ask for pictures on anything; 6000k bulbs pictured above.

Yes, the order threshold has cleared (provided everyone follows through, of course) and I'm not aware of a max. I can check however and report back. I will be sending the order to the manufacturer on the first Monday in February and will give everyone until the end of the week to have payment to me so I can pay them (since I can't pay for everything out of pocket up-front on my own), and I expect 5-7 business days max from shipment to have them in hand. Then if I ship things USPS Priority, that's another 1-3 business days to your door. So make that any date between the 10th and 20th of February. Ideally, anyway... Unfortunately I can't have them drop ship so I'm stuck as a "middle man" in the shipping process, adding several more days to the time in transit.

That is correct, these fit OE 96/97 headlights without any major modifications, if any at all. I am not aware if they will fit 94/95s, but I think they will physically fit. However the refracting lenses would likely interfere with the beam pattern from the projectors.

The details on installation and fitment are mostly on pages 2 and 3. Be sure to note that the pinout of the wiring harness has to be modified in order to take advantage of the high beams, as detailed in this post.

Anyone who would like to purchase, now would be the better of the best-est time to order! We are low, and I was really looking forward to this, before people starting dropping there order's at the DEADLINE!

Now me and Brandon are stuck in our own little situation with either having to order enough kits between us to make the cut-off of 5, or just call it... That doesn't seem to cool in my book..

I wasn't able to make the minimum order threshold and wasn't able to make the purchase. You can find them on ebay still, I believe the going price is $130ish per set.

If enough people express interest again I'll reorganize something, but to be honest... you'd probably be better off just getting them from ebay. The cost benefit of having me order them for you then send them to you would be at best a few dollars, plus there would be the additional time in transit from me to you (rather than from them to you). It was a better deal two months ago when it was closer to $20 cheaper per set to have me place the GP.

How hot do the headlight lenses get with these things cooking for an hour or 2? I'm running healdight covers and would rather them not melt

They get warm, but they're not as hot as the stock halogens. A 35W HID ouputs more light than a 55W halogen but emits less heat.

So....aside from the halos, what is the difference in these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...item2303016948

Help me out here 'cause I need to upgrade and want to get the best bang for my buck.

That's just a plain 9007 HID bulb kit, those don't come with projectors and the overall beam pattern will still be crippled by the crappy stock housings. It'll be brighter but you won't be getting as much light on the road (not to mention it will look a lot brighter to oncoming traffic). If you check out the last page of the original thread (link in first post) I added some comparison pics of halogens vs. the projectors. You can find kits like that for around $60; the advantage is that you can buy replacement bulbs if need be. I still haven't had any luck finding replacements for the projectors kits.

Here is the kit that includes projectors that I used. It includes everything you need to install with the exception of some wire and the appropriate connectors for the wire. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...item2ea9081ead

Sws

Soon to have some MHS parts, cams, 'luminum block, lower compression, ported heads, autorotor, and need to make long tubes. I have almost all the stuff and need some #42-50s a bypass valve, and maybe a few other things.

What about that whole projected beam deal...you know, not blinding semis? That beam looks awfully high...

I know I was pulled over with 13.9 V going to a set of SS Ultras and was issued a fix it ticket because my lights were too bright and pointed too high. Illinois state cops are a b!tch

Garage
Those pics were of the "rough alignment" I did in 3 minutes without any measuring. It is a bit lower now than it was then, but not by a whole lot. The first picture (aiming at the basketball hoop) makes it look like they're pointed up because the turnaround for the driveway where I was parked for that picture isn't level. A better representation is shown in the road pic; the left side of the beam doesn't even make it to the crosswalk paint on the road.

Never had anyone flash me, no attention from law enforcement officials, and plenty of light on the road.

Here are a few comparison pics between Silverstars and the projectors. The blue tape on the garage door represents where a level beam would strike: http://forums.tccoa.com/showpost.php...&postcount=233
