This is an Auto-dimming rear view mirror from the mark viii, $37 shipped. It will fit any MN-12 (and almost any car really) Uses +12V, GND, and Reverse Sense wire.

"Reverse sense wire"? Is there a tech article one this? I have one of these mirrors I picked up a while back and have stripped my interior out to install a new carpet kit. Now would be a good time to add this in but it isn't a direct "plug into the factory harness and go" thing. I'd like to know what I need to feed this thing so I can get it in and working. Any tips are helpful.

You need a switched 12v and a ground. The harness isn't there if the mirror didn't come stock (AFAIK). The reverse sense wire just disables the dim feature so you have a clear view to back up. Most just leave the reverse lead open.

The harness I'm referencing is the connection that comes from the main interior harness on the driver's side and runs up the sail panel to the portion of the harness that feeds the dome light and visor lighting. The Mark VIII has the same connector and the mirror (atleast the one I have from a 95 Mark VIII) plugs into that connector.

If at all possible, I'd like to feed whatever wires I need to into that connector so I can use the mirror's factory plug and just plug it in rather than running all new wiring to the mirror. It's 6 in one hand and a half dozen in the other, I know, but keeps it a little cleaner I suppose by utilizing the factory harness connectors.

I have the interior out the moment, so it's nuthin' but a thing to get the any wiring I need over to that plug and if I can retain the reverse cut off feature, I'd prefer it.

Guys this is a for sale thread, not a tech article, take that somewhere else.
