Hi all,
In rebuilding my valve body, two questions came up that I can't find an answer for:
1) The two springs for the Capacity Modulator Valve and the low servo modulator valve are different, but I can't find in the service manual or the documentation which spring goes first.
(see pic below from https://www.tccoa.com/articles/mn12-techinfo/trans-tech/4r70w_rebuild.html and the pic from my springs below).
One spring is orange/red(?) and the other spring is black. The orange spring is shorter than the black spring.
2) In the 4r70w document mentioned above in the TCCOA forums, the author mentions drilling a hole into the boost sleeve port to keep the torque converter charged. I do not see this in either of the other articles or the Baumen Engineering document I have for the AOD. Is this necessary or required for the J-Mod? (see pic below).
Any comments would be appreciated.
