85 nissan

my freind has a 85 nissan sentra diesil and it will turn over just not start,,i kow i dont have alot of info ..btw it has a new(er) engine

I don't know about that particular car, but I know most of the time when a diesel won't start, it is something wrong with the injection system. Make sure you have fuel at the injection pump, and then follow the lines up and make sure that the pressure is getting all the way to the injectors. Beyond that, I really don't know what to tell you. I try to avoid working on diesels as much as possible.

Since it turns over, maybe the fuel pickup screen is clogged.

Not sure if this will help, but found a wiring diagram of the ignition system. Maybe there is a wire that's bad on your buddy's car causing it.

These are highly engineered precision vehicles, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to strike the suspected offending part sharply and repeatedly with a blunt object, then re-test.
