cell phone signal booster?

Hey all, i live on a farm in an area that has weak cell phone signals for all companies. And we also cannot get high speed internet (hughs doesn't work with a **** in our area). So I was wanting to get verizon dsl (my cell is through them) but was thinking it would work best if I could get a stationary powered cell signal repeater. Any thoughts or suggestions on the matter?

Thanks, Dave

I wouln't get one. They're ripoffs. My wife sells cellphones, and I just asked her... she said not to. We're in Maryville, MO (near Braddyville), and our reception sucks ass also. Isn't Iowa State in Ames. I would think you'd get decent reception there. Anyway, that sucks. Sorry I couldn't give any advice as far as what to do, but don't waste your money on a signal booster.

ames was just fine. now i'm living back home on the folks farm. there's about an 8mile circle of no man's land as far as cell phone reception goes. nearest sizeable town is 20miles in any direction.
