So this was an interesting realization...

I was having dinner with my mom tonight, and we got to talking about the many different cars I have owned, and I realized that through all the cars I have had over the years, I have never owned a newer car than I did when I was 17 years old and in high school! Back in 1999, I had my 91 cougar, which at the time was 8 years old. Other cars I got later were my 79 firebird, an 89 buick regal, 89SC, and a 91 bird. Eventually I got my 94 cougar, but that wasn't until 2003, so it was 9 years old! A couple years later I got the 94 crown vic, then the 89XR7, and a couple months ago, I bought a 98 MarkVIII, and while I love the car, it occurs to me that it is still older than the car I had in high school!

If I didn't love MN12s/FN10s so much, I think I'd be disappointed at my lack of progress in life.

-91 Cougar LS, coming soon, complete overhaul with a 427" Windsor.
-90 XR7 5-speed black on black w/sunroof, MP2, coated rotors, double intercooler, 15%OD, ported heads, comp stage 1 cam, 85mm TB, 90MM LMAF, 80# injectors, and ported big valve heads
-98 Mark VIII LSC, Procharger P600b, TR3650 swap and 3.73s.
-90 SC Automatic rustbucket winter beater
-97 Tbird Sport 4.6 Nice weather daily driver

That is funny. The newest car I ever owned (the only new car I ever bought) was a 1995 Geo Metro when I went to college! I consider myself to have moved up considerably LOL.

Mods? Do the ones in the garage waiting to go on the car count?

Many thanks to my fellow Veterans; I am honored to be a part of your ranks.

The "newest" car I have owned is my 96, and I got it in 2004, so it was 8 years old. Since then I have also had an 88 Taurus, 87 Camaro, and now a 95 SC. So I have gone backwards.

Mikey, I'm in the same "car".

Bought my 96 in 2001 when I was going into my senior year, only 5 years old.
Newest car I've owned is the Audi, which was only last year, 9 years old.

On the other hand going from a 96 T-bird to a 98 A8 is a good step up, even after redoing the t-bird interior. Funny thing is, I paid the same for both, $5300.

OH! Did you want the oldest car we've had? If so, then I've owned a 69' Camero and a 77' Malibu Classic. Which is just another name for Chevelle.

The newest car I've ever had is my Contour.

On another note I've never owned any car with less than 100k miles.
