Yeah. But it's one thing to be "careless" (but definitely no excuse), but another to just be sick, sadistic, scum of the earth parents:

I'm not a parent, but I fail to see how any one could leave their child alone in a car or forget they were in the car altogether.

75 degrees and that happened in 2 hours? When it is 110+ here it only takes minutes to go from ac cooled down to 75 to 110 (it was overcast, and used my sunshade today, and my alarm said it was 132 degrees after 1 hour). With the number of times this happens ever increasing, people need to focus on what is important and not if they got starbucks or not.

Someone invented a device to remind you your kids are in the car ::boggle:: as a parent when it it really quiet, that means my kids are not within 30 feet of me. I guess I am a good parent after all not leaving either one of my kids in the car, not even once.

This makes me sad, on so many levels. I would miss my sons dearly, and then, never forgive myself or the person who did this. Kids make the world so much better. A sad day!

Ya, its funny, Funny like a Clown.

I can't even fathom how you could forget about your kids in a car. I don't even let mine go wait in the car when we're getting ready to leave the house! The thought of heat or cold doesn't even enter my mind; the thought of leaving them out of my line of sight for any amount of time stops me before I ever have to think about that. People like that make me sick! The second story I cannot even post my feelings on in a public forum.

Mods? Do the ones in the garage waiting to go on the car count?

Many thanks to my fellow Veterans; I am honored to be a part of your ranks.

It's very sad that we need gadgets like rear view cameras and sensors on vehicles to remind parents that they have kids. Every gadget that takes away parental responsibility make us more incompetent and creates more carelessness. It seems we are becoming robots, filling up our time trying to gain more material goods and forgetting that our kids are the most important possession we have.

Sorry about the rant but stories about careless "parents" really p*ss me off.

My a8 has motion sensors inside to set off the alarm. It was intended for anti-theft, but could work for this too. I think the volvo system is higher tech and doesn't even require movement to detect the person.

Even though you're right. you know the only children you need to care for are your own. If other "parents" are more concerned with gadgets and possessions than their own blood no amount of talking to them will change that. Good to see you understand the truth. My parents were never concerned with big screen TV's or toys they were concerned with feeding me, keeping me healthy, and to see that I learn. They were concerned with growing food and paying the bills like responsible people, not keeping up with Jones'. btw my parents didn't need any reminders to get me out of the car. I say lets keep having parents fall for these gadgets and gizmos to do all the thinking for them, as they didn't do much before hand. And we will see more kids dying in cars and more parents being thrown in jail each time being punished harsher and harsher. I personally witnessed a "mother" hauled off to jail because she left her child in a car in a mall parking lot for only a couple hours. I'm not sure the child died but you know how shopping at the mall is pretty important to some parents lol.
