Winter/Spring MN12 Projects!

Since we are in the dead of winter, what is everyone's plans for their MN12 for Spring?

Here is my list:
  • Cobra R Fiberglass hood: https://www.supercoupeperformance.co...spx?partId=272
  • New Headlight lenses with GT smoked covers
  • New front bumper cover
  • New sunroof gasket (not leaking but I want to get one before they aren't obtainable)
  • Removed front license plate bracket (unsuccessful when I attempted it)

What are your plans?

Well, my winter plans are complete. The only thing left to do is see what the results of the upgrades are.

In a nut shell the upgrades were:
  • DSS Level 5 half-shafts
  • DLF bushings and Mark VIII rear LCAs
  • Rear coil spring drag bags
  • A 10% Overdrive Harmonic balancer
  • E85 conversion including a larger fuel pump and injectors
  • New tunes for E85 and Gas

Mods? Yea, I got mods ...
Air silencer delete, warp drive, dilithium crystals, flux capacitor, Slingshot Rubber band power adder, Moonshine & Gas, Leaf Blower Supercharger, Hamster Wheel & Hamster, Energizer Bunny generating 1.21 gigawatts, Mr. FusionŽ Home Energy Reactor, hover conversion and a sextant celestial navigation system (The original GPS)
Best 1/4: 1,320 nanoseconds @ 670,616,629.2 miles per hour

Pretty much replacing every wear-able item on the car front to back. That about sums it up.

projects

I'd like to finish the interior on my 89 S/C , figure out how to get the sequential blinkers to flash slower, and do the brake upgrade.

I picked up a 92 sport with a 351w, I need to paint, finish up the wiring so the guages work, and rebuild the carb.

Rebuild the engine in my 94 S/C 5 speed, (North Carolina car)

Replace the engine in my friend Randal's anny

and last but not least take my Robert Yates thunderbird to North Carolina to try to get documention if it is a Davey Allison car

Thats all

It's amazing on how long it takes to finish something you're not working on.

I have high hopes for what I will get done this winter but really I just want all of the maintenance up to date and to get the rear end ready for launching at the strip. If I can manage that without being sidetracked then I'll be happy.

I'm planning to remove my Tokico coils and my premium sound cd player, and set them aside with the other parts that I don't want to sell with this car.

In no particular order...
  • Rebuild 4.2 with new wear items (bearings/gaskets/seals/etc)
  • Rebuild M5R2 with new bearings/blocker rings/seals/etc
  • Pull dash for paint/dye, heater core, clutch pedal install, hinges
  • Install 3.27 TL with fatty SC shafts
  • Install Eibachs and Tokico Blues
  • Pull the 2nd dead 3.8 due to HGs
  • Pull the carpet out and pressure wash
  • Install new p/s rack while engine is out
  • Pressure wash engine bay
  • Install 4.2/M5R2 with necessary mods
  • Mount BFG 255/50s
  • Headlights/header panel
  • Finish black interior swap
  • Install gauge pods and 145 speedo

Not so much a 'spring list', more of a 'I better make it to the Shootout next year' list.

1994 Thunderbird - 2000 4.2L M5R2 now has 55k

1995 Thunderbird - 2002 Alum 4.6L SVO - Awaiting transplant... (Parts donor)

Unfortunately the thunderbird is being stored somewhere else. Won't be ably to work on it until at the earliest April. Right now the goal is to save up some cash and buy some parts.

List:
1. Raybestos pro grade ball joints (upper and lower)
2. Sport front brakes and rear disc conversion
3. 16" supercoupe wheels
4. Gonna end up pulling a PI 4.6 from the junkyard and freshen it up.
5. Trac-loc w/ 3.73's
6. Magnaflow direct fit cat, dynomax catback.

Hopefully I can drop the new engine and trac loc in by the end of the summer.

Plans are to work on the car lol

Mainly because I've been working on a lot of side projects lately. But that's what I get for touting my welding skills, if you'd like to call them that.

I found out the local NAPA store here mixes paint when I went there to get bulbs for the instrument cluster a few weeks ago.

It's Martin Senour Finish 1 stuff.

So, I may try to paint the horizontal surfaces of the car when the weather allows it.
  • New brakes
  • Rear suspension control arm bushings
  • Re-dye steering wheel
  • Remove buckets and clean the carpet
  • Replace headliner

Use a tool, don't be one...

I'd just be happy if I could find a nice low mile 94-97 4.6 buggy to make my project. Then I could be making a legit on topic post in this thread.... lol

Hanging out on this site for the past couple months has made me really want to get back into a 'Bird or Cat but nice ones are getting hard to find.
