The 1MTNCAT Resurrection Begins

Well I finally Loaded the 1MTNCAT out of the garage and on the car trailer Friday. Going to give it a bath, wax and going over out there and clean the garage up all in the next couple weeks in anticipation of the upcoming engine install. This old man is getting excited again LOL!!

Try to keep everyone posted of the progress the next few weeks!

Glad to hear everyone's getting back into the game.

RobertP even has plans to resurrect his own Bird.

... how long that will take is anyone's guess.

Took a quick look at the exhaust today. Just need to upgrade the down tubes from the 3" header collectors to 3" pipe to the x-Pipe. I may put turn downs on the ends of the side exhaust.

This is an older pic from last fall but everything in the trunk looks good. I do need to check the lines to the front to insure all is good there. If needed later all I should have to do is upgrade the Aeromotive fuel pump for Major Horsepower.

Update Today

Spent most of the day cleaning and organizing the garage and finding my additional parts.

Cleaned engine bay and have it ready for some mild touch up once back in the garage.

Cleaned and washed the car. May put a good clay bar and wax on it once inside.

Ughhh!

Life's been in the way lately and short on time along with getting some other details sorted out. This is my weekend to get the engine bay touched up/painted in spots and get some of the items cleaned and painted ready to go back in. It may as well look good and clean when it all goes back together in the engine bay.

Need to clean the radiator overflow and radiator out also. Odd and end stuff.

BTW, if you guys are reusing injectors, change the filters at the top. Our systems are dissolving over time; all the ones I looked at recently had crap in the filters.

Yeah, you have that right Ron LOL!!! That's what it feels like. But it looks really good/clean and painted in there now. I'm happy.

Grog6. That's an easy one. Just hurt your motor, pull it and you can do all this fun stuff ROFL! As far as the injectors, I have a new set of 60's going in the .020 over 4.6L so I shouldn't have any stuff in them. Besides I have two filters in line from the Fuel Cell to the front and I will flush that out before putting fresh fuel in it again. Shouldn't be an issue.

Which dyno you going to? There's a new one in Kearneysville that's pretty nice. Let me know when you go, I've got a tuned Ecoboost that I'm fixing to find out what the gains are.

Jeff, Probably the one here in Martinsburg. Soon as I get things together and EECDOC here we'll plan on doing it. JP wants to come up too. Maybe we can make a threesome for the dyno.

I'll be in touch when the time approaches. Right now looks like its pushed out till maybe late July.

No wonder you were asking about my dyno numbers. Being competitive already.

Well, if everything goes well I may have some number (on gas) on Wednesday. I've got to find some good E85 before switching over and getting those numbers.

Looking forward to seeing your numbers. Be sure to get some good dyno video. I can't wait to hear the MTNCAT roar.

Well, if everything goes well I may have some number (on gas) on Wednesday. I've got to find some good E85 before switching over and getting those numbers.

Looking forward to seeing your numbers. Be sure to get some good dyno video. I can't wait to hear the MTNCAT roar.
Competitive, Hell I've always been competitive. Probably one of the reasons I'm still alive after Open Heart Surgery LOL!

Hope it goes well for you and interested in seeing how that blown 5.3 does. I'm thinking 525 RWHP. Guess we'll see. Dependant on blower set up as well.

Ron, how dare you even want to competitively compare a built, blown 40+ larger cubic inch motor compared to mine which is a built NA .020 over 4.6 (283). Even on Spray the motor should be nowhere even close to what you have there. Whatever mine is I can take the blame for all of it cause I'm the one that engineered it, pieced it together, had the machine work, etc completed and then built it with help of friends.

However, so you know, this probably is only stage 1 of mine. I do plan a blower install a year or so down the road. So maybe we will see then. Regardless, I'm still running the same 4.6 then an will still be down the cubic inches. It is what it is. You went your way I went mine LOL!

So, we'll see what they make for numbers, power, track, etc. The rest will be up to the drivers, set up and cars! And no, I'm not changing anything on the car or gutting it except a legal bar soon. Once that's done I will pull the 45# of Frame connectors out from underneath it. Otherwise it is still the same as it always was and with full interior.

Should be fun.

I was just kidding about comparing engines.

Go for it man, slap that big-ol-blower on that bad boy. I wish you the best. I'm done building mine for a long time. I'm going to baby this engine and enjoy the car instead of beating on it at the track. Yes, we have gone separate ways with our builds. There's no way I'm putting a 4.30 or higher gear in my car. I actually stepped mine back from 4.10 to 3.73 to make it more highway friendly.

I'm surprised you didn't pull that under-body bracing sooner. IMHO it's overkill and adds unnecessary weight.

Best wishes buddy.

Mods? Yea, I got mods ...
Air silencer delete, warp drive, dilithium crystals, flux capacitor, Slingshot Rubber band power adder, Moonshine & Gas, Leaf Blower Supercharger, Hamster Wheel & Hamster, Energizer Bunny generating 1.21 gigawatts, Mr. Fusion® Home Energy Reactor, hover conversion and a sextant celestial navigation system (The original GPS)
Best 1/4: 1,320 nanoseconds @ 670,616,629.2 miles per hour

Hey, its all good! With a big cube motor and/or blower there is no need for you to have a bunch of extra gear. As far as the bracing my car does need it. It was starting to twist the roof line over the driver side door with the spray and 500+lb ft of torque on the launches. That's how unibody cars get twisted with power. The bar will fix that once its installed. Half the weight of the bar will be removed once the underbody bracing are removed.

Interested to see the numbers on both cars after the tunes and track. I'm not going to put mine back on the street till next year likely. Tags, inspection and insurance ran out long ago. Worry about that come next spring to get it street legal so I can drive it on good days.

I'm not 100% sure of the benefits, but I'm told the one in Kearneysville has a brake, where Vagwerks doesn't, which is supposed at least better for turbo vehicles. I've got a friend at work with a GT500 and a blown Cobra that would probably come along too for more numbers.

We'll get it figured out then. I'm Sure that once its broken in with the initial tunes it'll have to be hit again later just to tweak it some. If I decide to get the blower stuff and do that then it'll need it once again. Just got to get it up and running first.

If we can have more we can make a dyno day of it!
