Defifnitely looks like a Mercury. IMO the healights look just a bit Cadillac-ish.

Slightly Jerryfied...

The headlights would be more rounded than a caddies and from straight on would look more rectangular and lower profile than those on a cadillac... it's hard comunicate everything onto an angle perspective like that. If this concept proves to be popular I will draw front, side and rear perspectives to clarify some of the design details.

I don't like the trim down the middle of the hood... but other than that, looks pretty decent.

It looks like a shortened MN12 Cougar with SC ground effects, a different front end and a tail. The sides look like the 89-93. To me personally, it looks like an import with a Buick grill.

Just my opinion.

its still looks TOO much like a mustang..

The Cougar & Tbird had more back seet leg room then the Mustang, that thing looks like it has NO rear legroom.

I would straiten the roof line, and extend the wheel base.

Help me... what about it looks like a mustang?

This would be as big as an MN-12.

This would be more of a mid-trim level car... not an XR-7 or Eliminator... the latter of those two would get a cobra engine and hood scoop.

The wheel base is longer than it might appear due to the drawing angle and large rims... I intend the wheel base to be similar to that of the MN-12 (ie: longer than the current mustang)

I think it's just missing something. Right now, it looks like an MN-12 Cougar's skin on an '05 Mustang's body, you know? The headlights are kinda Caddy-ish. LI5.0Cat Did a great job Photoshopping it, but the tires should be a little bigger. But as long as we're dreaming here, why not do a quick XR-7 or Eliminator sketch?

I like it. It has a little of all years mixed into one car, which is very cool. If only Mercury would come out with a rear-drive V8 Cougar again....

It definitely needs refinement...

LI5.0Cat actually did do a good job of capturing some of the thought I had... although I would like to see more of the current mercury styling in the head lights.

It is no mistake this car shares some of the porportions of the 05' mustang, if I had it my way the Cougar would again be a more luxurious and slightly stretched sister car to the mustang like it was in the beginning. The only way we will ever see another RWD Mercury cougar is if it shares platforms with another ford car. And since the mustang is the only performance car ford offers it is an obvious and historical choice. I really believe mercury could sell a ton of Cougars if they make a thoughtful design using an extended mustang platform that has distinct sheetmetal. For now, one can only dream...

Hey Stoltz, if you want me to do a serious one, maybe you could send me a couple of sketches and some ideas, and I will take it seriously.

The one I did was like a 4 hour job.....real quick. The black lines are too wide making it look unrealistic.

If you want, like I said, shoot me a pm with your ideas, and when and if you do more sketches (different angles).

I like the concept. Needs the rear seat extended a bit. Just my personal taste but I dont like the ultra low profile tires. If they ever build another Cougar it should be like Fords old muscle cars. Everyday practical car (can fit four or five people like the MN-12, not the Mustang) with a useable trunk, affordable and with every engine option available. That would sell.

Like I said before, this car is intended to be bigger than the Mustang... platform mate, Yes... same wheelbase and rear seat room, NO.

I guess probably one directly from the front, one from the rear, one from the side and an angle shot.

I think it would be cool.

I'm with Madgoat on this one, I like the hood trim

It looks like the 05 Mustang because it's still squarish. I'd say add some roll to the sides, or maybe change the rear window; square it off like the XR7 or slope it further back on the deck lid?

^^^That's the kind of feedback I'm looking for

I like the squarish look, it's a sixties look.... look at the lincolns and first generation cougars.

It's funny how good car designs are a love/hate thing, like most people don't want a Bug or PT cruiser... but enough people love them to make them a best seller. It's better to just have 30% of the population love your car than 100% who only think its nice. Attempting to design a car for everybody will surely create a design that no one likes!

Btw, wasn't it the 60's Continental that had the aircraft carrier styling and doors.... I love those cars!
