Make sure he's never without an inhaler, and if he has frequent attacks, a bracelet with "asthma" on it is always a good idea!

Lately there have been a few times when I wonder if its coming back...or Im just out of shape. Never had exima.
He'll be fine.
My situation was similar,
My asthma was more due to the size of my lungs(over sized), and lack of muscular development to control them properly.
I had asthma attacks from a very young age, but ever since I've been old enough to walk, I'd run like a banshee, I played all sports, including soccer, football, running track and field, wrestling, baseball, and basketball. I even did some skating on the cold ice, and I was on the swim team and the ski team for a while.
I would have asthma attacks on the soccer field, puff my inhaler, and keep going the best I could until I recovered a few seconds later I'd be back up to full speed.
I outran alot of guys on my track team who did not have asthma.
Eventually my lungs, (and my whole body for that matter) were very strong, and asthma was never a problem again after somewhere around 16-17.
If he takes is medication regularly, he will be fine, and if his asthma was similar to mine, he can excersize to strengthen his lungs.
Their may be other types of asthma that I'm unfamiliar with though!
Everybody is different, but..
He will be just fine.
