Exclamation GAME: Guess the mileage

ok now i commute 35 mile to and from school everyday on the 1-4 and 1-95 then theres the daily driving around town. last night i was wondering how far i could go while grannying my car until my low fuel light comes on. ok now here the plan

THE PLAN

im going to top my gas tank on sunday night before monday when i go to school. when i am on the highway i am going to use cruise control at 70 no higher. now remember this is a stock 96 3.8 bird and i will end the game and give the results once i first see the low fuel light come on.

now place your guesses and next week, let the game begin!

I don't know anything about the 3.8L, so I can't comment.

But on a 4.6L, the way to keep from burning a lot of fuel is to accelerate SLOWLY!!! It's more the load while your getting up to speed than it is while cruising. Or at least that's what I've found on my 4.6L's.

my guess around 325 to 350 depending how you drive, my 92 302 bird with 16's and 327 get around 325 if i am hammering it.

I get about 330 miles to a tank with my 4.6, and it's all what you might call "spirited" driving. I'm gonna say that you could get up to 380 if you baby it.
