What's the most amount of cash you've ever held in your hands?

Just sold the Bird, and it's hard to sit down with a grand in my wallet...

Anyway, the most I've ever held was $16,500 when a friend of mine sold his Firebird and they buyer actually paid cash. How about you guys?

Hm,.. $1300 +/- when I bought my first computer. Now, checks are a different story--I bought my car with a single cashier's check for $6500. But that's still a pretty small amount compared to $16,500.

Night was dark, but the sky was blue,
Down the alley, the ice-wagon flew,
Heard a bump, and somebody screamed,
You should have heard just what I seen.

I held a check for 2.something million... wasn't mine, but I wanted to see it because I didn't believe it. It was a payment check being sent do an agent for some land the company I was working for was buying.

I got to take a briefcase to the bank for work one day because someone decided to pay
cash for a 87,000 truck. I was really tempted not to make it to the bank.

I had the check that bought my house, all $116,500 of it. It was broken into 2 checks- one for $95K, and another for $21,500. Lasted about 5 minutes until the mortgage comp. took it and gave me the keys.

About $1,200,000 of my own money........................too bad it was in Korean Won, about $1000 U.S.

We actually found about $50 Million U.S. dollars in Iraq, and I got to help load it into a CIA truck, does that count?

My dad sold his 55 Mercury panel truck for $10,000 back in about 1987 probably? There abouts. So I was or so. They have a picture of me holding that 10 grand in cash.

Well, if we're going to talk about other currencies, then it was common for me to walk around with 250,000 lire when I stayed in Florence, Italy. I've proabably even had up to 750,000 on me at one time or another. (at the time, $1 = 1600-1700 lire, but now they have the Euro)

Quit putting $ symbols infront of foriegn currency. You cant say $100,000 but it was pesos... makes no sense. Cheaters!

Ummm prob like... $140. Thats what i got for christmas this year. Do you guys use banks?
I never have cash. Have my own credit card, Debit card, checking account, atm card. Cash? Whats that?

Ive never had more than 3,000 in my bank account so i guess i never had a chance to hold that much.

Well foreign, about 3000 kronor, (approx 450 CDN) .

When I paid for the Ranger though having 26 $100 bills in my hand felt pretty damn good.

As a financial planner I've seen some large checks. It is against the law for us to accept cash. But I meet with a client this week to pick up a check for $829,000 from an estate settlement. This will be my largest check to date.

Probably about $50,000. Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's revenue from the gas station I worked at. I could have made afew grand disappear and cover it up in the paper work, but I'm not that type of person.

When I lived in NYC we were in Brooklyn. My grandfather owned a store there. He gave a zipped up bag to my cuz and I and told us to take it to the bank a block away. He told us what was in it, $10,000. When we got to the bank we saw them take it out of the bag and man was that a lot. I was probably about 12 and my cuz was 17 so that was a big deal at the time for us.

Thats the most I have seen in cash. Otherwise I had $4000 from when I used some for a down payment on the bird and some went right into the bank.
